Zeferh Porphyry copper prospect is also a large alteration system (2km by 5.0km), located about 85km east of Isfahan and 20km north of Zefreh village and about 35 km northwest of Kahang porphyry prospect. This alteration system was also identified using Aster imagery data. Ground controlling of this aster anomaly shows a porphyry system, showing mostly quartz-sericite alteration, quartz-clay, quartz stockwork surrounded by propylitic alteration. The main rocks are altered dacite porphyry showing strong phyllic alteration + iron oxides (gothite+jarocite + hematite). The main target at this prospect is a zone of strong phyllic alteration and silicification of about 600m by 1500m. The average Cu and Mo grades of a few rock samples within the leach cap are about 250ppm and 45ppb, respectively.
This prospect (2km by 5km alteration system) is located 40km NW of Kahang Cu-Mo porphyry and has been recently identified and needs further exploration such detailed mapping, systematic geochemical sampling and IP/RS survey.
