Kahang prospect is located near the village of Kahang in Isfahan province, central Iran. DORSA Pardazeh company (the exploration license holder) discovered Kahang porphyry type alteration system (5km by 2.5km) in 2002 by mapping hydrothermal alterations using Landsat-TM satellite imagery data. Kahang lies in the central part of the main volcanic arc of Iran, which is also known as the Urumieh-Dokhtar Magmatic arc. The Urumieh-Dokhtar arc is one of the main subdivision of Zagros orogenic belt and product of subduction and closure of new Tethys ocean. It hosts all of the large porphyry copper deposits including Sarcheshmeh, Meiduk, Sungon and Dareh Zar in Iran.

There are 3 prospects in the West Shiraz Kohn area, located about 70km east of Isfahan. An old kaolin prospect is located about 70km west of Isfahan and about 50 km south of Kahang porphyry copper deposit. Part of this prospect is actually a kaoilin mine. The alteration system covers an area of 1km by 5km and contains sericite, kaolinite and silica alteration surrounded by propylitic alteration. Leached cap and strong silicification at this prospect shows upto 0.2% copper and 0.25 g/t gold.

Zefarghand Porphyry copper prospect is actually a large alteration system (1.5km by 4.5km), located about 100km east of Isfahan and 30km southwest of Ardestand and 2 km north west of zafarghand village. This alteration system was identified using Aster imagery data. Ground controlling of this Aster anomaly shows an outcropping porphyry mineralization within the alteration zone, partly covered by alluvium. Four main types of alteration zones of potassic, sericitic, kaolinite, propylitic and silicification (Stockwork) were identified in this area. The main rocks are altered dacite porphyry and micro diorite which are surrounded by weak propylitic andesite porphyry. Some galena and sphalerite veining (up to 3cm) were found in5x30m silicified zone in the peripheral of the porphyry system in the fresh andesit.
